Is it safe to use a second dose of flea control stuff on my cat?
Turns out my dog has a small case of fleas(thank god its not a huge thing), so I gave my cat a thing of zodiac spot on (the stuff that goes on the back of their neck) yesterday except when I put it on I didn’t really notice any of it as his fur usually gets oily for two days…it’s normal now. The vet gave me 3 Advantage treatments for him, would it be safe to put one of the treatments on him? He is a few months over a year old. Also, do flea collars really work?

I don’t think you should risk it. The side effects could include death. Wait until the next dose of zodiac was due and then use the advantage instead.

flea collars do work and as far as a seccond dose call your vet and they will tell you when and if to give a seccond dose.
Flea collars do not work. Ask your vet about flea control for the cat, if the dose of advantage is for the dog it may too strong for the cat. Since you have used the zodiac (a brand I am unfamiliar with) I would not use something else until I have spoken with my vet.
Flea collars do not work unless the flea or tick is around the neck. Waste of money. If you put the zodiac on your cat Thursday, wait until Sat or Sun to put the Advantage on her.It shouldn’t hurt her at all. If you can get Frontline Plus, it’s better. Just make sure you part her fur well to the skin at least an inch long when applying. Then after applying fluff the fur up and DO NOT TOUCH OR GET WET for 24 hrs. After that you can do what you want. Even give her a bath.
Good Luck and let me know how she does!
I don’t think you should use another dose on your dog because it could severely hurt it and increase the chances of side effects on your animal. It would be a better idea to follow what the package tells you, or make a quick call to your vet.
And yes, flea collars do work. I used one on my cat for years because he was an outdoor cat and he had no problems after I began the use.
Good luck with your dogs flea problem :]
